Wow...can't believe its almost been a year since I've blogged about my hair. Well, next week will mark my 4 year anniversary w SL's. Still loving em, loving em, loving em. My only complaint, I have sooo much darn hair I even pop the elastic hair ties!!! Ok, on to photos.

Camera phone pics taken about two weeks ago. Headed out w/the girls just quick pony tail & few curls in the front. Turned out better than I expected.

cornrolled for 3 days, crinkled curls lasted over a week!

My first ever "REAL STYLE" I created on my own (although my niece did help me bobby pin the bun). It turned out kinda cute. I twisted & had spiral curls in the front.

Ok, that's it for now!!! More pics as I've made a vow to do a new style at least once a month. Updates in few months. Candace SL'D 4 years (thanks goes out to Paulette who started my locs & Beverly C in Sauk Village, IL...my God u r truly a wonderful consultant).

Hello to my fellow sisterloc-ers. It has been almost a year since my last post but I'm back today with updated pics. In about 3 weeks, my full, thick and healthy locs will be 3 years old. Hope you all enjoy the pics and to all the newbies, sit back & relax, your anniversary's are right around the corner (One thing that helped my when I first locked was to constantly take pictures to track my progression length, thickness, etc).

Jan 09 May 09 quick to go look w/ week old braid out & hat.

Below July 09. If you look closely, 5 of 7 women are loc'd. 3 SL's & 2 traditional, not bad!!!!!!

Hello to my loc'd up sista's. Just wanted to give a quick 18month update on hair. Not much has change...as far as the love for my hair. It's grown a bit and I have a few co-workers who have started their Sis Loc journey & or will be starting their journey soon (they've all witnessed my loc'd journey and want to jump on board :)

Headed out to see Jill Scott this nite. Just a quick 2hr rod set for a little curl and pulled back into a ponytail.

styles below were created by 16yr old niece (Ms. Tay)
I'm still working on her to join the nappyside :) but she's a teenager and not trying to hear me. Nevertheless, she loves to style my hair. Because I never style my hair much, I just have her to do simple styles where she braids my hair up or to the side and I just apply the bendable rods (I love these things) to get a curl.

Hope you enjoyed the pics...Candace

Greetings & a Happy New Year to all my fellow sistaloc'd sistas. Just updating my blog w/new photos of my hair. I'm going strong at 15mos. Enjoy the pics and fell free to leave a comment!

Headed to see Frankie Beverly (for the 20th time) and E.Badu in late Nov.

Just random snapshots last Friday. Headed out to Dave & Busters to enjoy my last vacation weekend before heading back to work w/ the kiddies. I know the middle shot looks a little crazy but I like it because it shows my length.

I cannot believe over 365 days have passed with me having true hair freedom. Yes folks, I finally made it to my 1yr anniversary and I can't be happier. I must first thank the WONDERFUL Paulette (Detroit Consultant) who got me off to a wonderful start. For those of you who don't already know I drove from the Chi to the D faithfully for maintanence for 8 mos. I was just so afraid of letting someone else get into my head after Paulette had me off to such a wonderful start. My hair was doing fine and I was starting to feel comfortable with the idea of finding a consultant in Chi. Well, GOD must have been on my side because I was able to get in with the WONDERFUL Beverly Credelle. She picked up where Paulette left off and the rest is history. I'm telling you, I truly feel like I hit the jackpot with both of these ladies. Meaning, I didn't have to experience anything horrible with my consultant or worst of all being unhappy with my hair. Kudos to both. This 1yr Journeeey w sl's has had more up's than down. I can go on forever about the up's but write about one down (dandruff). I'm still learning how to control it but other than that oh and those permed ends (that were cut after 3mos) my journeeey has been peaceful. I really wished I had done this years ago. Ok, now to the photos.

What a difference a year makes. pic 2 left is 1st week & 2 the right 1yr.

3mos & 1yr!

8 mos & ...u guessed it, 1 yr. As u can see....my hair began to sprout between the 5th & 8th month.

I usually wore my hair freestyle most of the time. However, I did attempt at styling every now and then with a twist on the side or curls.

loving it nappy! Candace....1 yr & counting.
